Appeal after man killed in Stourport crash

A man has been killed after his car ended up on its roof in a crash in Stourport.

The horror smash took place on the A451 Minster Road at around 3.15am on Easter Saturday.

It involved a Ford Fiesta Zetec, which ended up on its roof in the road.

The driver – a man aged in his 20s – suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he later died.

His next of kin have been informed.

West Mercia Police has now launched an investigation into the fatal crash and is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman said: "Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Stourport-on-Severn to come forward.

"Enquiries are currently on-going but police would like any witnesses to the incident or people who saw the vehicle and the manner in which it was being driven prior to the collision to come forward.

"They are particularly keen to speak to a taxi driver who may have seen the collision."

Anyone with information can call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 113s of April 20.
