Crews tackle skip fire at Kidderminster car yard

Fire crews prevented a blaze at a Kidderminster car dismantling yard from getting out of control.

The fire took place on the yard on Lisle Road in Kidderminster

A crew from the towns's fire station was called to Kidderminster Car Dismantlers & Storage Yard, on Lisle Road.

On arrival at the yard at 9.25pm on Friday, the crew discovered a large skip on fire.

The crew tackled the fire using one hose reel and extinguished it a few minutes later.

A spokeswoman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "One crew and one appliance from Kidderminster Fire Station were called to reports of a fire at Kidderminster Car Dismantlers.

"After reaching the scene at 9.25pm, they discovered a large skip on fire, which they extinguished with a hose reel."
