It is unclear how the fire began but police officers also attended the scene alongside firefighters in Kidderminster.

The fire left one van and a number of scrap pieces of metal burnt out following the blaze on Lisle Avenue.

Smoke could be seen billowing into the air as firefighters dosed the flames with water hoses.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Service urged people to avoid the area to allow crews access to extinguish the fire.

Officials told people to close their doors and windows in the nearby area.

It started just before 7pm last night.

Three police cars from West Mercia Police were also in attendance.

Fire crews remained on site until 9.13pm.
