The discount retailer will open at the site, off Spennells Valley Road, later this year, creating 40 new jobs.

As well as a host of branded products including toys, food and drink, pet range, health and beauty, homewares, and a DIY, decorating and furniture range – the store will also have its own garden centre.

A spokesman from B&M said: "We are feeling really positive about the creation of more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door later this year.”

The store will undergo a internal and external refurbishment ahead of opening to customers. The site has been empty since Homebase closed down in December.
