Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash in Kidderminster

A motorcyclist in his 60s was taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' after a crash with a car in Kidderminster.

The crash took place at the junction of A449 Worcester Road and A442 Worcester Road.

West Mercia Police closed off surrounding roads while emergency service attended the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Worcester Road, Kidderminster, close to St Cecilia Road and Wilden Lane.

"The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, suffered injuries to his leg and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing."

The crash took place shortly before 1pm on Saturday

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and motorbike at the junction of the A449 and A442.

"We sent one ambulance and an air ambulance from Cosford attended.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the motorcyclist.

"He was treated for multiple injuries, some of which were potentially serious.

"He was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment."
