Man rescued from fire in house in Cookley

A man was rescued from his house in Worcestershire after a hob fire.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, along with fire crews from Bewdley and Worcester, were sent to Austcliffe Road, Cookley, after a house fire was reported at 11.28pm on Sunday.

The fire, which involved a hob, was extinguished using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

Fire Control tweeted: "Mobilised to a house fire on Austcliffe Road, Cookley, fire involved hob, extinguished using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet under rapid deployment.

"One male was rescued from the property."
