Man dies after being found in shopping centre car park

A man died after being found in a town centre multi-story car park.

Police were called to the scene

Police and ambulance services attended the scene last night and the car park was cordoned off.

Emergency services responded to a call from a member of the public who raised concerns for a man in the car park of the Swan Centre on Blackwell Street, Kidderminster, at around 7.13pm.

Police and ambulance services attended the scene where a man required immediate medical attention.

The man was transported to Worcester Royal Hospital where he was later pronounced dead - though his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A formal identification has not yet taken place but next of kin have been informed.

Officers and paramedics, including two ambulances, attended the scene where a man required immediate medical attention.

A police officer carried out CPR on the man before paramedics arrived to continue where they gave the man five shocks using a defibrillator.

He was transferred to Worcestershire Royal Hospital and later pronounced dead.

A West Mercia police spokesperson said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

“Next of kin have been informed.

“Formal identification has not yet taken place.”
