Body pulled out of River Severn in Bewdley

The body of a woman was pulled from the River Severn in Bewdley.

Police said the woman's death was being treated as 'unexplained' but was not thought to be suspicious.

Officers were alerted to the body in the water at around 11.10am on Sunday.

West Mercia Police spokesman Paul Roberts said: "The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious at this time. We are awaiting formal identification.

"Police are carrying out inquiries to help establish a cause of death. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident 156s of 28 October 2017".
