A car hurtled on its side and plunged onto a pavement in front of police officers.

The driver allegedly lost control of the car, crashing into a lamppost and overturning in Ashmore Park on Sunday.

Lisa Thompson, 32, has since been charged with drink-driving after the incident in Griffiths Drive, police said.

West Midlands Police spokeswoman Caroline Schubert said: "No other people were harmed in the collision, which took place at around 4.50pm.
