Residents urged to have their say over play area plans

A city councillor has urged local residents to have their say over plans to refurbish a popular play area.

Paul Singh has welcomed Wolverhampton Council’s decision to use money received from a nearby residential development to upgrade play equipment at the Windsor Avenue Playing Fields.

And the Penn councillor has urged residents and schools to contribute to a consultation on its proposed design.

The plans will be displayed at Warstones Library from May 13 for three weeks, where people can give their views on a questionnaire.

Councillor Singh said: “It is fantastic to see that the children’s play area will be fully refurbished, thanks to money the council has received from the residential development at the old Warstones Inn.

“This just goes to show that development in an area can have a positive impact on the community, as local assets can be preserved and enjoyed for many more years.

"I know that local families and children will be delighted to hear this news, and I encourage everyone to take part in the consultation on the proposed new design.”
