The pair – aged 15 and 17 – appeared before a district judge at Wolverhampton Youth Court today accused of jointly wounding a 15-year-old boy with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The older boy also denied a being in possession of a knife.

The victim, who was stabbed in the stomach and leg in the fracas near the Otter and Vixen pub in Old Fallings Lane, Fallings Park, around lunchtime on Monday, is still in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Both defendants were remanded to a youth detention centre. District judge Michael Wheeler said he believed their lives to be in danger should they be bailed.

The case was sent to Wolverhampton Crown Court for trial, with the first appearance scheduled for June 28.

A third teenager, aged 16, arrested in connection with the stabbing has been bailed pending further enquiries.
