Thief poses as police to steal cash from man with learning difficulties in Bilston

A thief who posed as a police officer stole cash from a victim with learning difficulties at a Black Country tram stop.

British Transport Police detectives who are investigating the robbery at Bilston Central tram stop have now released images of the man they want to speak to.

At around 3pm on August 14, a man approached another male passenger at the tram stop and identified himself as a police officer.

The thief then demanded that the victim, who has learning difficulties, hand over his money.

The victim handed over a small amount of cash.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could assist with their investigation.
