The regular scene of long lines of vehicles queueing on Dudley Road, with tailbacks often as far back as Wolverhampton Road East has not been seen this week as the station has been closed whilst they have work going on at the site.

As it has been the cheapest fuel station in Wolverhampton for both petrol and diesel for a number of months now, the demand has risen to astronomical heights, and so now the station has taken the decision to upgrade their fuel pumps and fuel lines which will allow them to operate a lot quicker and be more efficient, thus helping them to hopefully reduce the waiting times to use their pumps.

The team said in a Facebook post: "The new pumps and fuel lines will operate a lot quicker and be more efficient thus enabling us to serve more of the community.

"Thank you for your loyal custom and thank you for your patience."

They did initially plan to have only a partial closure but have instead chosen to close completely whilst the work is undertaken and are planning to reopen on Friday, August 19.

They said: "We have made a conscious decision to close until Friday 19th August. We hope to see you soon when we reopen on Friday. Thanks For All Your Support."

While the station is closed, the cheapest place to fill up now in Wolverhampton is Fallings Park Service Station with petrol prices at 165.9 pence per litre and diesel costing 178.9 pence per litre.
