Biker seriously injured in Wolverhampton crash

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash with a car in the Black Country this morning.

Emergency services were called to the collision in Willenhall Road, near the junction of Old Heath Road, in Wolverhampton, at around 7.15am.

The male motorcyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious injuries, before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.16am on Wednesday to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike in Willenhall Road, Wolverhampton.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor attended the scene.

"The motorcyclist, a man, suffered serious injuries and was given treatment by the team of ambulance staff on scene before being taken on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further trauma care."
