Arrest made over murder of Wolverhampton teenager Keelan Wilson

A teenager has been arrested in connection the murder of Wolverhampton youngster Keelan Wilson.

Fifteen-year-old Keelan was found with stab wounds in the street after reports of disorder almost two years ago.

He was stabbed on Langley Road in Merry Hill, close to his home, on May 29 in 2018.

Now a 19-year-old has been arrested this morning by West Midlands Police and is currently in custody.

Three men charged with Keelan's murder last year have been remanded in custody awaiting a trial later this year.

Detective Inspector Nick Barnes, from the Force CID team, said: "This is a further significant step in our investigation.

"We’re determined to bring those responsible for Keelan’s death to justice.

"The death of anyone under such circumstances is tragic, but Keelan was so young, he had his whole life ahead of him.

"His murder was a needless act of violence that was deeply destressing for his family, friends and the communities of Wolverhampton.

"We will not let up on the fight against knife crime, we’re committed to protecting the public and will do all we can to investigate violent crimes, and get the answers his family deserve."
