Firefighters tackle "severe" bedroom fire in Wolverhampton

Firefighters tackled a severe fire in the bedroom of a home in Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Fire Service crews from Fallings Park station attended the fire in Old Falling Lane at around 3.45pm on Saturday.

Pictures taken by crews at the scene show the smoke-damaged upper bedroom window.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were called to a fire in a house. It was a severe fire in the first-floor bedroom.

"All persons were accounted for and one was treated for smoke inhalation. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel."

Fallings Park station later posted advice on Twitter, stating: "It is important that you get out and stay out, never go back in."
