Man found dead near Wolverhampton

A man's body has been found near Wolverhampton.

The man was discovered on land off Cannock Road, Westcroft, yesterday morning where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and it has been referred to the coroner.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called there at 5.28am and sent two ambulances and a paramedic support officer.

An ambulance spokesman said: "Sadly, one man was confirmed dead at the scene."

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Officers received a call at around 5.30am from colleagues in the ambulance service reporting the sudden death of a man on Cannock Road in Westcroft near Wolverhampton.

"Officers attended and examined the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for HM Coroner."
