Police were dealing with fallen trees as gusts of up to 50mph were expected to hit the area.

Roads were completely blocked by falling trees, including Rudge Road, Pattingham, where Bridgnorth police were called out to.

Midland Metro services were also hit, with a fallen tree on the tracks disrupting trams.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind for this morning, and warned that people should avoid travelling if they can help it.

It also said there were risks of short term power loss and some disruption on public transport.

The Met Office warned that later in the week there could be wintry showers, snow and sleet.
