"I lost eight stone and won woman of year"
"I feel amazing now."A woman who dropped eight stone has been named Wolverhampton's Slimming World's Woman of the Year 2018.
Emma Sutton, 28, from Wednesfield, has gone from 18 stone 3lb to nine stone 13lb over 14 months and has gone from a size 24 to a size eight.
Ms Sutton has now been chosen by Pickering Road Community Centre to represent them in a regional competition, putting her in the running to find Slimming World's Woman of the Year 2018.
The national winner will be announced in November, with the winner will take home £3,000 or a five day holiday to Mexico.
Mrs Sutton said: “I never could've dreamt I would be in this position when I joined in January 2017.
"I’d started to gain weight after I had my children and as the weight went on my confidence disappeared.
"I began to feel extremely anxious when leaving the house, even when just having to take my boys to school."
Mrs Sutton said she used to only eat one meal and then snack throughout the day.
She said: "I never used to eat breakfast. It was one meal a day along with junk food and takeaways.
"It was large portions of takeaways, either Indian, Chinese or chip shop meals plus snacking through the day on chocolate, cake and crisps.
"I still do my own meals instead of takeaways. If I wanted a curry, I would cook it from scratch to know it was healthy.
"All my meals I cook from scratch – no takeaways.
"I would never cook before and if I did it would be a ready-made pie from the supermarket or chips."
The 28-year-old said she hasn't got an exercise regime, but takes her children swimming and to the park.
She said: "It's just changing my lifestyle, really. I eat more than what I did before just the right things now."
The mother-of-two, who attends Slimming World classes at Pickering Road Community Centre, lost 7.5lbs in the first week and now hopes to be an inspiration to others, adding: “I really do hope my weight loss can inspire other men and women to make that life changing step that I have."
Dawn Rayson, Emma’s consultant, said: “I’m so proud of Emma. She’s a fantastic ambassador for Slimming World and what she has achieved is incredible. She’s a huge inspiration to everyone in our group and I really hope she will inspire others to change their lives in the same way."
The Pickering Road Community Centre group is held every Wednesday at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm and Thursday between 9.30am and 1130am.
