It took place at the Gujarati Association in Mander Street last week.

The event was organised by Vishamo, which is based in Old Meeting Street in West Bromwich.

Among those there was Babubhai Patel, who was awarded an MBE for services to the community in Tipton in 2010.

The 73-year-old serves as a governor at Great Bridge Primary School, where he is now chair of governors.

He said: "It was an event where people could get together, share idea and meet people from near and far.

"It was very successful."
