One person feared dead after horror Wolverhampton crash

A person is believed to have died after a serious crash in Wolverhampton

Police cordoned off part of the A449 Stafford Road after the crash, which took place just after 6pm last night.

Drivers were forced to abandon their cars at the roadside as police investigated the collision.

West Midlands Police is due to release details of the incident today, but it is believed one person has died.

A blue forensics tent was put up outside the houses following the incident.

Items were reportedly seen scattered across the street.

Officers were patrolling Stafford Road, as well as at the street's junction with Oxley Moor Road.

West Midlands Police said it was called to the road, near the Goodyear Island, following the collision.

The route towards Wolverhampton city centre was closed for several hours.
