Wolverhampton ring road blocked following crash involving cyclist

Wolverhampton's ring road has been blocked following a crash between a car and a cyclist.

Emergency crews were called to Ring Road St Andrews, at its junction with Waterloo Road, at around 4.40pm.

The cyclist, a man in his 20s, is being treated for cuts to the back of his head and is understood to be fully conscious.

West Midlands Police spokesman Hannah Fitzgerald said the road was blocked as of 5pm. She added there had been no arrests.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 4.40pm to reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist.

"The cyclist, a man believed to be in his 20s, was fully conscious. He is being treated for cuts to the back of his head."
