Woman rescued from fire at Coven house

A woman in her 60s was rescued from a house fire near Wolverhampton.

She was taken to hospital following the incident on Saturday morning at the property in Cinder Hill Lane, Coven, just after 7.30am.

The ground floor of the property was alight upon fire crews arrival, with breathing equipment and two hose reel jets in use.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "We had two crews from Fallings Park and Cannock in attendance.

"We received the call at 7.34am. We rescued one female from the property who was in her 60s. She was taken to hospital to be checked over.

"Crews left the scene at 8.07am."
