Cameron MacKenzie pleaded guilty to murdering Kevin Shepperson when he appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.

His co-accused, Wayne Kendall, 21, of Bloxwich Road South, pleaded not guilty to the charge and will now stand trial for Mr Shepperson's murder.

The victim’s bound and badly beaten body was found in the hall of his top-floor flat in a three-storey block in Bloxwich Road South, shortly after noon on August 22.

He was certified dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination subsequently disclosed that he died as a result of multiple injuries.

The case will next be heard at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 7, with a provisional trial date for Kendall listed as February 4.

The judge, Mr Justice Jeremy Baker, remanded both defendants in custody. MacKenzine, also 21, of Richmond Street, Chuckery, is due to be sentenced at the conclusion of Kendall's trial.
