The event was held at Pelsall Community Centre in Station Road on Saturday and was organised by Councillor Garry Perry.

Councillor Perry said: "It was fantastic, I organised the event as we're embarking on a resilient communities model which encourages people to do more for themselves.

"I wanted the wider public to know what's out there.

"We had just over 50 organisations attend, everything from training opportunities to the YMCA right through to the Epilepsy Society, Neighbourhood Watch and the police.

"There was a whole raft of different organisations providing different opportunities for the public to get involved, whether it's an attendee of events or volunteer opportunities.

"All in all it was very well supported, a great event and we look forward to the next one.

"The feedback we received was that it was great.

"We probably had a couple of hundred people through the doors.

"It also provided an opportunity for businesses to network with each other."
