Little Jayden Southall has severe positional plagiocephaly as he has not been able to re-position his head while sleeping.

His mother Cheri Millett took the seven-month-old to the doctors after being referred to Birmingham Children's Hospital she found out the NHS will not fund a helmet.

Cheri, 29, from Darlaston, said: "When he was around two months old I did notice he had a flat head but I was told it would round out.

"When he was about four months the health visitor said if it gets any worse go to the doctor and then I got an appointment at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

"We had that appointment a few weeks ago and they just said do lots of tummy time which is what I've been doing.

"It's just cosmetic but I don't want him to feel down about it when he's older, it's really severe.

"Every time he puts his head down it breaks my heart."

Cheri then decided to launch a fundraising page for a helmet and within five days hit her target of £2,000.

"It was a massive shock," she added. "It has been amazing, I've got an appointment for the helmet on November 12."
