The first stage in the planning process for a new railway station in Darlaston has begun.

Last week new images of Darlaston and Willenhall railway stations were released and a public consultation began on Monday.

West Midlands Railway, which will run the trains, hopes by having Darlaston and Willenhall stations open it will increase the popularity of the line and make it financially viable to run passenger trains between Walsall and Wolverhampton.

And now a environmental impact assessment screening opinion for the Darlaston site has been submitted to Walsall Council.

It comes ahead of a planning application being submitted.
