Pensioner charged after siege on Bloxwich street involving armed officers

A pensioner has been charged with making threats to kill and possession of a knife after a siege involving armed officers in Bloxwich.

Police officers were called to Sneyd Lane in the town, situated near to Mossley Day Unit, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The road was closed off as officers dealt with the situation, with residents reportedly seeing police in night vision goggles with firearms.

Gregory Rennison was arrested and later charged with making threats to kill and possession of a knife.

The 71-year-old, of Sneyd Lane, was remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court today.
