Man cut free from car after Bloxwich crash

A man had to be cut free from a car after a crash at a busy Bloxwich junction.

Emergency services were at the scene of the smash between Bloxwich High Street and Wolverhampton Road on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters freed one man who was trapped inside his car, before he was taken to hospital.

A woman, young child and a man managed to get themselves out of the other damaged vehicles before crew arrived on scene.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were called at 2.40pm to the junction between Wolverhampton Road and Bloxwich High Street to a collision involving three cars.

"One man was trapped in one of the vehicles. The crew used specialist cutting equipment to extricate him from the car. He was conveyed to hospital.

"Prior to the team's arrival one man self-extricated from one the second vehicle and one woman and one child had self-extricated from the third car.

West Midlands Police were also at the crash site to assist with traffic management.

A spokeswoman for the force added: "One person suffered injuries not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening."
