Driver injured after ice cream van flips over in crash

A man was taken to hospital after an ice cream van flipped over in a crash.

Concerned residents called 999 to alert police and ambulance crews to the scene in Bloxwich.

The van is believed to have hit another vehicle before overturning in Victoria Avenue, near Blakenall Heath, at around 8pm on Sunday.

The driver, aged in his 40s, was dragged from the damaged van, close to the junction with Valley Road, before being treated for minor injuries.

He was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for further assessment.

The windows of the van were smashed and the roof and bonnet wrecked by the force of the crash.
