Two injured after car ploughs into house in Bloxwich

Two men were injured after their car hit a house in Bloxwich.

The crash happened at around 11.40pm last night in Field Road.

The vehicle hit a stationary car outside in the smash.

One man, a rear seat passenger aged in his 20s, had managed to get himself out of the crashed car when emergency services arrived.

He suffered serious chest injuries as well as cuts to his arm.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was found to be unresponsive in the car by emergency services colleague.

He was freed him from the car and was treated for a head injury.

He was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital.

Crews from Walsall and Bloxwich fire stations attended alongside two ambulances and the ambulance service's Hazardous Area Response Team.

David Thornton, aged 50, his wife Dawn, 58, who has a disability and their son James, 30, were in the back room of their house when they heard a loud bang.

Mr Thornton said: "I came into the front and saw orange headlights in my front room."
