Little Aston Road crash: Man critically injured after being hit by lorry in Aldridge

A man is critically ill after he was hit a lorry outside a hotel and spa in Aldridge.

The man was struck in Little Aston Road, outside the Fairlawns Hotel and Spa, at around 3.30am today.

The road was cordoned off as investigations continue into the circumstances.

West Midlands Police said the man was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.

His condition is described as critical today.

Emergency services closed the road for around four and a half hours. It reopened at around 8am.

A police spokeswoman said: "The 54-year-old lorry driver has been helping police with their inquiries."
