So strong is the school's sense of community that many aspects of its day-to-day teaching are centred around growing students inside and outside of the classroom, with the aim of developing well-rounded members of society.

"Ready, Respectful, and Responsible - Day in, Day out": This is the motto that leads many students in Shelfield to not only become leaders in their chosen professions, but also leaders in their communities.

Mr Michael Riley, Principal at Shelfield Community Academy, leads students to be active and involved members of the community, encouraging students to not only be proud of their school, but also proud of their community too.

Mr Riley said: "The academy’s values are simple yet powerful: Ready, Respectful, Responsible.

"These principles shape the behaviour and culture of academy life. They are not just expectations, but a shared language of pride and purpose, echoed in the school’s guiding motto, 'Ready, Respectful and Responsible - Day In, Day Out.'
