Long delays are expected in the area after the crash on the eastbound approach to M6 Junction 10.

Murray MacGregor, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to the Citadel Junction on the Black Country route at 2.45pm to reports of a two-car collision where one had rear end damage with the other having front end damage.

"A single ambulance was sent to the scene. A woman passenger in the car with rear end damage was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to New Cross Hospital as a precaution. There were no other injuries."

Walsall Council tweeted saying: "Due to a traffic incident on the eastbound approach to M6 Junction 10 at the A454 Wolverhampton Road, between Tempus Drive/Bloxwich Lane and roundabout, one lane is currently closed.

"Long delays are expected and drivers should take alternative routes where possible."
