Travellers move onto Walsall car park
Travellers have moved onto a busy car park in Walsall.
Up to six caravans have been parked on Day Street car park just off the major A4148 road near to Tesco Extra and Walsall Magistrates' Court.
Walsall Council has said officers are aware of the unauthorised encampment and are trying to take the land back.
Walsall Council spokeswoman Melinder Kaur said: "Walsall Council are aware of a unauthorised encampment at Day Street Car Park. Council Officers have visited and have started the process to regain the land."
The caravans have been parked horizontally across a number of parking spaces, meaning many visitors to Walsall have had to turn to other car parks.
The car park, which is still open, is usually full each week day and is a popular parking site for business people and visitors to the town centre.
