Applicant Jacob Feteke submitted plans to redevelop the offices in West Bromwich Street, in Caldmore, and create 13 apartments.

He said his plan would provide a boost to the area and help bring an empty property back into use and Walsall Council planning officers agreed and granted permission.

The offices were formerly used by housing construction company Karma Homes but will now be converted into 11 one-bedroom flats and two two-bedroom properties with 16 car parking spaces.

In the application, planning consultants Bharya said: “The site was used as as offices for Karma Homes.

“West Bromwich Street and Caldmore Green is a main road that links Walsall to its surrounding areas the site benefits from having good public transport availability.

“There is off road parking with a minimum of 16 car park spaces and 10 secured cycle shelter with a private gated entrance with an in and out one way system. It is also securely gated.

“We will also be proposing minimum three car park spaces with electrical charging points.

“The site benefits from a variety of shops, small restaurants and cafes.

“The development will increase trade to the local shops and amenities as well as providing for greater public safety and civic stability to the area brought by perceived ownership of the streets.

“The proposal provides new apartments that are close to local centres, close to main road, several number of bus routes it is therefore highly sustainable location where a high density development should be encouraged.”
