Mental Fest 2019 was held by Walsall Arcade on Saturday and Sunday to raise funds for Papyrus.

The free event was organised by businesses Human Canvas Tattoo & Piercing and Midlands Metalheads Radio.

Bands performing included Birmingham-based Failure is an Option, Exiles from Wolverhampton and Coventry-based Face Up!

There were also fire performances, glitter tattooing and a charity raffle.

Organiser Saz Lockley said the event was held last year and raised more than £1,500.

She said: "We've had a lot of people come down and see what's going on because they can hear the music.

"We've had quite a lot of donations too.

"Over the course of the weekend we've been doing glitter tattoos, henna tattoos and lots of local musicians have been playing.

"The reason that I run it is because not enough is being done for mental health for young people.

"My husband and I are mental health trained so we've got a good idea of what mental health is all about and we don't feel that enough is being done that people relate to.

"We're trying to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and to raise money for charity.

"We raised £1,544 last year and we hope to raise even more this year."
