New dessert shop plans deferred

Plans for a new dessert shop in Walsall have been pushed back by councillors - despite the owners already starting work on the site.

Zubair Mohiuddin applied for the retrospective change of use of shops 3 and 4 in Pleck Road, from a shop to a restaurant/cafe named 'Heavenly Desserts', but councillors raised a number of concerns.

Walsall Council's planning committee discussed the application at a meeting on Thursday, but they had unanswered questions about disabled access to the site, parking, bins, and pollution, despite some members recommending the plan be approved as it would create 15 jobs.

The committee voted to defer the application until a later date so that more information can be provided.
