Cyclist seriously injured after Walsall crash

A cyclist was seriously injured after a crash with a car in Walsall.

Emergency services were called to Bentley Lane just before 10am yesterday to reports of a crash.

Off-duty nurses were providing first aid to the man before paramedics arrived.

Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to Bentley Lane, Walsall shortly before 10am yesterday morning.

"One ambulance attended and arrived to find a cyclist, a man, who had been injured following a collision with a car. Two off-duty nurses were on scene providing first aid.

"The man sustained serious injuries and was given treatment by the ambulance crew on scene before he was conveyed to Walsall Manor."
