Overhead line damage hits Midlands train services

By Megan Archer | Walsall | News | Published:

Train travellers were today left facing long delays after overhead line damage meant some services were unable to run.

Passengers trying to get between Smethwick and Wolverhampton were delayed on Saturday afternoon due to line damage.

Those attempting to travel were advised that alternative transport might be made available.

A bus was also arranged for stranded passengers trying to travel between Walsall and Rugeley Trent Valley after overhead electrical wires were damaged between Aston and Walsall.

A National West Midlands Bus was instead sent to take people to their various destinations.
