Man killed by train in Walsall

A man has died after he was hit by a train in Walsall.

Police have launched an investigation into the fatality at at Bescot Stadium Station at around midday yesterday.

The station was cordoned off as a forensics team examined the scene.

Trains running towards Walsall and Rugeley were terminated at Tame Bridge Parkway station with passengers having to continue their journeys by bus.

A spokesman for British Transport Police confirmed that the victim died at the scene.
