12 cars broken into in a single week in Pheasey

A dozen vehicles have been broken into in Pheasey in a week.

Since Friday, January 12, a total of 12 cars have been targeted on various streets, including Lawrence Walk, Park Farm Road, Foxwood Avenue and Ivanhoe Road.

Handbags, purses, cash, bank cards, sat navs and mobile phones were among property swiped by thieves.

Kevin Pitt, police, engagement and consultation officer, for Walsall, said: "During the last week (since Friday 12 January) we've recorded some twelve crimes in the area where parked vehicles have been entered and in many cases property stolen.

"All but one of the crimes has been committed overnight.

"To help us bring down vehicle crime, please remind your neighbours to always check that they have locked their vehicle and removed all items from show inside, especially when leaving it overnight.

"Always remove anything of value.

"Remember, though your insurance may cover any damage caused to the vehicle, it is unlikely to pay for any stolen items.

"If you see anyone acting suspiciously, or have any information that may assist, please contact the police on 101, or 999 if you believe a crime is being committed."
