Arsonists attack former fire station

Arsonists have attacked a former fire station in Staffordshire.

Firefighters tackled a deliberate blaze at Joules Fire Station in Stone. The building was bought by Joules Brewery in the town.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Joules Fire Station on Friday evening.

Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Posting about the incident on Twitter, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Stone and Longton attended a deliberately set fire at the Joules Fire Station in Stone earlier. Two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet were used to extinguish the fire.

"If you have any information please contact Staffordshire Police."

After the incident Joules Brewery said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to whoever raised the alarm last night and the crews from Stone and Longton who attended the site so quickly.

"If you have any further information please contact Staffordshire Police."
