Man and woman killed in motorbike crash with tractor named

A man and woman from Staffordshire killed when their motorbike collided with a tractor have been named.

Stephen Mander, 55 , and Janine Mander, 54, from Stone, died instantly in the collision on the A41 near Greystones, Market Drayton, Shropshire, on Sunday, March 24.

Mr Mander was the rider of the Yamaha motorbike when it collided with the tractor.

The inquest was opened at Shirehall in Shrewsbury today.

Coroner's officer Melvyn Dawson said Mrs Mander, born in Jersey, was a prison officer. Mr Mander was a machine operator at JCB.

Mr Dawson said the incident happened at 11.08am, and the pair died instantly.

Coroner John Ellery adjourned the inquest for a full hearing to take place on July 17.

The collision happened on the A41 at Crickmerry on the stretch near to the Tern Hill Barracks.

Several witnesses to the collision were treated for shock.
