Delays after crash on M6 near Stafford

Delays are expected on the M6 northbound near Stafford after a lorry jackknifed.

Police and Highways officers are at the scene on Junction 14 northbound after the crash, which left a diesel spillage on the road just after 3pm.

A man is being assessed by paramedics.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by police at 3.08pm to a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a lorry between junctions 13 and 14 of the M6 north. We currently have one ambulance at the scene assessing one patient, a man.”

CMPG tweeted saying: "CMPG and Highways currently dealing with a road traffic collision M6 northbound at J14. Long delays are likely."

Highways England tweeted saying: "All lanes are currently blocked on the M6 Northbound at J14 Stafford North. This is due to a collision. Congestion is building in the area. Updates to follow."

And then: "If you're travelling Stafford M6 northbound, there is approximately three miles of congestion on approach to this incident. Please add an extra 30 minutes on to your current journey time. Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads of J14."
