A Stafford care home raised more than £300 for Children in Need.

Maple Court Care Home, in Rotherwood Drive, held the event which included throwing pie faces and an afternoon tea.

A sponsored silence was held as well as a pyjama day as part of the fundraising.

In total £312.58 was raised by the events.

Soni Atwal, occupancy manager, said: "Our residents and their families and our staff were throwing pie in the home manager's face and two of the other workers too.

"The mayor pied our home manager in the face.

"It was all to raise money for children in need.

"That finished and then we had afternoon tea with Pudsey cake.

"Our admin lady Kim Walton also did a sponsored silence for the day.

"Altogether we raised £287.50.

"The event was lovely everyone had fun and the most important thing is that we raised money for charity so we're all really pleased with it.

"It was lovely for the mayor and mayoress to join us too.

"We also had a pyjama and Pudsey top day, so that was all going on too, it was a busy day.

"The residents really enjoyed throwing pie in the home manager's face, everyone had a lovely time and we raised a lot of money for charity."
