Man who died in M6 crash at Stafford named

A pedestrian who died after being hit by a lorry on the M6 at Stafford has been named as Daniel Johnson.

The 30-year-old, from Barlaston, died after the crash on the M6 Southbound, just before Junction 13, at 3am on Thursday.

The motorway was closed southbound between junctions 13 and 14 for around nine hours as a result.

Officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to express their thanks to those caught up in the delays following the collision and are grateful for the public's cooperation and patience.

The unit continues to investigate the collision and is appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or who may have witnessed the collision to contact ciu@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 52 of 14 February.
