Nathan Farrell was crowned International Singer 2015 in the Open Mic International competition and was awarded a recording contract.

Now the 32-year-old has got through to the semi-finals of another talent show after a singing hiatus.

Nathan, who quit his postman job and now works as a welcome host for Virgin Trains at Birmingham New Street, will be performing in front of a panel of judges in Liverpool this weekend, with a chance to be signed up to agency Majestic.

The father-of-five, who lives in Stafford, sent in two videos to competition MGT On Stage, singing Believe by Elton John and Feeling Good by Michael Buble, and was then invited to perform live tomorrow at the Blundell Street Supper Club.

The semi-finals and finals will both be held tomorrow.

Nathan said there will be five scouts from other talent shows along with the panel of judges.

He added: "For the semi-finals I will be singing Lucky Man by The Verve in the hope that it can get me through, but I'm still undecided on what I will sing if I get through to the finals.

"Majestic is a modelling agency but they also do TV commercials.

"The last winner has been going all over the UK performing, it's the best thing he did really.

"It would mean everything if I won, I've been doing competitions all my life, I've been on TV and the radio, but this is the first time I've done any event in two years since I was the singing postman.

"But to be involved in the semi-finals is a dream itself."
