Man assessed for smoke inhalation after hob fire

A man was assessed for smoke inhalation after a hob fire today.

Firefighters were called to Sugar Loaf Lane, Iverley, near Kinver, South Staffordshire, just before 4am.

The ambulance service assessed one man and he was discharged at the scene.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Control tweeted saying: "03:53 Wyre Forest Fire Station attended small fire on hob, Iverley. Fire was out on arrival. West Midlands Ambulance Service carried out check on occupier."

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a property fire on Sugar Loaf Lane at 4.05am.

"One ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was assessed for the effects of smoke inhalation and discharged at the scene."
