Laptop and cash stolen during Perton shop break-in

Thieves have stolen cash and a laptop from a village shop near Wolverhampton.

The break-in is believed to have taken place overnight between Friday and Saturday at C&L Foods in Anders Square, Perton.

The crooks forced open a padlock on a metal roller shutter door before stealing the items from inside the safe.

Nobody has been arrested over the incident.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "Between 7pm on July 31 and 6.30am on August 1, unknown offenders have gained entry to C&L Foods, Anders Square, Perton, by forcing open a padlock that secured a metal roller shutter door.

"Once inside, offenders have opened the safe, and stole cash and a laptop.

"We are appealing for anyone whom may have witnessed this incident or anyone suspicious hanging around the location before the incident to contact police."
